Exploration Geoscientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Exploration Geoscientist to join their team in Bristol . This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site presence for critical collaborative sessions and remote flexibility for detailed data analysis. You will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating new hydrocarbon prospects, utilizing advanced geophysical and geological techniques within the Oil & Gas industry . Your expertise will directly contribute to the company's exploration strategy and success.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic, gravity, magnetic, and well log data to delineate potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data to build prospect maps and geological models.
• Conduct basin analysis and assess petroleum systems, including source rock, reservoir, seal, and trap.
• Perform risk assessments for exploration opportunities, quantifying uncertainties.
• Collaborate closely with exploration managers, geologists, and reservoir engineers in a hybrid work setting.
• Stay current with the latest exploration technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in exploration geoscience , preferably within the Oil & Gas sector .
• Proficiency in seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, HampsonRussell).
• Strong understanding of structural and stratigraphic principles relevant to hydrocarbon exploration.
• Excellent analytical and data integration skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities suitable for a hybrid work environment.
