Family Law Solicitor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Family Law Solicitor to join their established practice in Plymouth . This role involves managing a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child arrangements, and financial settlements. You will provide expert legal advice and support to clients during sensitive and often challenging life events, guiding them towards amicable resolutions where possible or representing them effectively in court proceedings. The position requires a high degree of empathy, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of family legal procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on all aspects of family law, including divorce, nullity, judicial separation, and civil partnerships.
• Handle child arrangement orders, including residence, contact, and specific issue applications.
• Manage financial remedy proceedings arising from divorce or separation.
• Draft applications, consent orders, and other relevant legal documentation.
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution processes.
• Provide empathetic support and clear guidance throughout the legal process.

Requirements

• A qualified solicitor with at least 3 years of experience practising family law.
• Demonstrated expertise in handling divorce, child arrangements, and financial settlements.
• Up-to-date knowledge of family law legislation and court procedures.
• Excellent client care skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• Proficiency in managing a caseload and meeting deadlines.
• Membership in Resolution or equivalent professional body is advantageous.
