Farm Manager - Arable Operations

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a significant arable farm in Coventry, West Midlands . This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of modern agricultural practices, including crop rotation, soil management, and machinery operation. You will be responsible for optimizing farm productivity, managing resources efficiently, and ensuring the highest standards of crop quality and environmental stewardship, contributing to the sustainable success of the farm.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual cropping plans, ensuring optimal use of land and resources.
• Supervise and manage farm staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of all farm machinery and equipment.
• Manage pest, disease, and weed control programs using integrated and sustainable methods.
• Monitor soil health and implement appropriate fertility management and cultivation practices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• A degree or HND in Agriculture or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a farm management or supervisory role, preferably in arable farming.
• Strong knowledge of crop production techniques, soil science , and agronomy .
• Proficiency in farm business management, including budgeting and financial planning.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
