About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Financial Controller to lead their accounting operations in Edinburgh . This key role is responsible for overseeing all financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls within the organization. You will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, manage the accounting team, and play a vital role in budgeting and financial planning processes. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy and efficiency.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
