About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to oversee their financial operations in Edinburgh . This leadership role involves managing all accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, providing strategic financial insights to guide business decisions. Operating in a hybrid model, you will lead a team and collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to drive financial performance and maintain robust financial governance within a supportive and professional setting.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
Develop and manage the annual budget process and financial forecasts.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering their professional development.
Analyze financial performance, identify key trends, and provide recommendations for improvement to senior management.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is essential.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and financial reporting.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
