Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Financial Controller to lead their finance operations in Leeds . This senior position demands a strong leader who can oversee all financial aspects of the business, from accounting and reporting to financial planning and risk management. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and driving financial performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial acumen and the ability to partner with senior leadership to achieve business objectives, contributing significantly to the company's growth and profitability in the UK market.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
• Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP , IFRS, and other relevant regulations.
• Provide strategic financial advice and support to the board and senior management team.

Requirements

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with extensive post-qualification experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably as a Financial Controller or similar.
• Demonstrated experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
