Financial Controller

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial operations in their Belfast office. This pivotal role involves managing accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, and contributing to strategic financial planning. You will lead a team of accounting professionals, maintain robust internal controls, and ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. The hybrid working model provides a dynamic balance between essential on-site collaboration and focused remote work, supporting efficient financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/UK GAAP.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial reporting integrity.
• Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing analysis and commentary.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with proven experience.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial management roles, with supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP and relevant financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.
• Experience in a hybrid working environment is advantageous.
