About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and safety-conscious Flight Dispatcher to join their operations team in Southampton . In this critical role, you will be responsible for planning and monitoring flight routes, ensuring the safety and efficiency of all flights. You will work closely with pilots, air traffic control, and operational staff to manage flight plans, weather conditions, and potential operational disruptions. This position requires exceptional decision-making skills under pressure and a deep understanding of aviation meteorology, navigation, and regulations. You will be a key part of the team that ensures seamless flight operations, contributing directly to the safety and punctuality of our client's services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and authorize flight plans considering weather, air traffic, and operational constraints.
- Monitor flight progress and provide timely updates and adjustments as needed.
- Analyze meteorological data and NOTAMs to assess flight risks and plan diversion strategies.
- Communicate effectively with flight crews, providing essential flight information and support.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations and company policies.
- Manage flight disruptions and emergencies, coordinating responses with relevant parties.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Flight Dispatcher or Flight Operations Officer.
- Valid Flight Dispatcher License or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of aviation meteorology, navigation, and flight planning software.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Proficiency in communication systems and standard office software.
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of the role.
