About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic and experienced FMCG Category Manager to join their commercial team, supporting activities in Plymouth . This role is pivotal in driving category growth by developing and executing category strategies that align with both consumer needs and business objectives. You will be responsible for assortment planning, pricing strategies, promotional planning, and supplier management, working collaboratively with buyers, merchandisers, and marketing teams. This hybrid role offers an excellent opportunity to shape the future of key product categories within the dynamic FMCG market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies, including product assortment, pricing, promotions, and placement for key FMCG categories .
- Analyze category performance, market trends, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure the availability of high-quality products.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling in-store and online promotional plans.
- Monitor category P&L, ensuring profitability and achieving key business metrics.
- Work closely with merchandising and store operations teams to optimize category execution at the point of sale.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Category Manager or Senior Buyer within the FMCG sector .
- Strong understanding of category management principles, including P&L management, assortment planning, and promotional strategy.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market insights.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
