About the Role
Our client seeks a meticulous Forest Ecosystem Analyst to join their team remotely, focusing on monitoring, assessing, and reporting on forest health and biodiversity. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze remote sensing data (satellite, aerial imagery) to assess forest cover, composition, and health.
- Interpret field survey data related to biodiversity, species distribution, and ecosystem functions.
- Model forest ecosystem dynamics, including carbon sequestration, water cycles, and habitat suitability.
- Identify environmental threats such as deforestation, invasive species, disease outbreaks, and climate change impacts.
- Prepare detailed scientific reports and present findings to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of conservation plans and sustainable forest management strategies based on ecological analysis.
Requirements
- A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Ecology, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field with a strong ecological focus.
- Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in ecological analysis, preferably within forestry or natural resource management.
- Proficiency in GIS software and experience with remote sensing data processing.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience in statistical analysis and ecological modeling.
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex analytical projects in a remote setting.
