Freight Forwarder

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Freight Forwarder to manage the movement of goods internationally for their Plymouth -based operations. This hybrid role requires a strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and various modes of transport. You will be responsible for coordinating shipments, negotiating with carriers, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery for our clients. Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and book international shipments via air, sea, and road freight.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including customs declarations and bills of lading.
• Communicate effectively with overseas agents, carriers, and clients to ensure smooth transit of goods.
• Track shipments and provide regular updates on their status to relevant parties.
• Ensure compliance with all international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the shipping process.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a related international logistics role.
• In-depth knowledge of international shipping procedures, customs regulations, and documentation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and standard office applications.
• Experience working in a hybrid office environment.
