Functional Skills Tutor - Liverpool

Location: Liverpool Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing

We are looking for a flexible and encouraging Functional Skills Tutor to support a learner through personalised 1:1 tuition in Liverpool.

This role would suit an educator who enjoys helping learners overcome barriers, strengthen their core skills and develop greater confidence in education.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver targeted Functional Skills tuition Plan sessions around individual learning objectives Support English and/or Maths development Break down challenging concepts clearly Adapt teaching methods according to learner progress Promote confidence and independent learning Maintain accurate progress updates

Requirements

Previous teaching or tutoring experience Knowledge of Functional Skills desirable Experience supporting learners with different abilities Patient and adaptable teaching style Strong interpersonal and communication skills Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Right to Work in the UK Two professional child-related references
