Geotechnical Engineer - Energy Projects

About the Role

Our client requires a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to their diverse portfolio of energy projects in Stoke-on-Trent . This role involves assessing ground conditions, advising on foundation design, and managing geotechnical risks associated with infrastructure development, including renewable energy installations and traditional power generation facilities. You will conduct site investigations, analyze data, and provide expert recommendations to ensure the stability and safety of complex energy infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage site investigations, including desk studies and ground surveys.
• Interpret geotechnical data and conduct laboratory testing analysis.
• Provide design recommendations for foundations, slopes, and earthworks.
• Assess and mitigate geotechnical risks for energy infrastructure projects.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and design specifications.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities on ground engineering matters.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical investigation and design.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
• Experience with energy infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software for analysis and modeling.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
