Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their expanding team, operating from their offices in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is central to assessing ground conditions and providing expert engineering solutions for various offshore and onshore projects. You will manage geotechnical investigations, interpret complex soil data, and design foundations and earthworks to ensure structural integrity and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and interpret geotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling and in-situ testing.
• Perform detailed geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement calculations.
• Design foundations (e.g., piled foundations, shallow foundations) and earthworks for offshore platforms, wind turbines, and other structures.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, including risk assessments and design recommendations.
• Liaise with clients, project managers, and construction teams to ensure effective implementation of geotechnical designs.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably with experience in the energy sector.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software packages (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
• Experience in offshore geotechnics is highly desirable.
• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
