About the Role
Our client is looking for an inspiring and experienced Head Coach to lead their youth development programs, working entirely in a remote capacity. This critical role focuses on nurturing young talent, developing their skills, and fostering a positive sporting ethos. You will be responsible for creating engaging training plans, mentoring junior coaches, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all young athletes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of youth sports psychology, exceptional coaching methodologies, and the ability to connect with and motivate young people and their families from a distance, contributing to the long-term success of their athletic journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive, age-appropriate training curricula focused on skill development and sportsmanship.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of assistant coaches and support staff.
- Provide expert coaching and mentorship to young athletes, fostering their technical, tactical, and personal growth.
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels with parents/guardians regarding player progress and team activities.
- Ensure adherence to all safety guidelines, safeguarding policies, and ethical coaching practices.
- Evaluate player performance and potential, creating pathways for progression within the program or to higher levels of competition.
Requirements
- Recognised coaching qualifications and certifications relevant to the specific sport.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in coaching and developing young athletes, ideally in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success in building positive team cultures and fostering player development.
- Strong understanding of child protection policies and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and motivational skills, adapted for remote engagement.
