Head Gymnastics Coach

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Gymnastics Coach to lead their established gymnastics program in Plymouth . You will be responsible for the technical development, training, and welfare of gymnasts across various age groups and levels, from recreational to elite competitive squads. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of gymnastics principles, and the ability to inspire athletes to achieve their full potential within a supportive and safety-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive gymnastics training programs aligned with club objectives and national standards.
• Coach and mentor gymnasts of all levels, focusing on skill acquisition, technique refinement, and competitive strategy.
• Lead, train, and supervise a team of assistant coaches, ensuring a consistent and high-quality coaching delivery.
• Plan and oversee gymnast participation in competitions, including travel arrangements and pre-competition preparation.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all gymnasts, adhering to strict safety protocols and risk management procedures.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to provide feedback on gymnast progress and foster a positive relationship between the club and families.
• Contribute to the strategic development and growth of the gymnastics club.

Requirements

• Significant coaching experience in gymnastics, with a proven track record of developing athletes.
• Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., British Gymnastics Coaching awards).
• In-depth knowledge of gymnastics disciplines, training methodologies, and safety requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
• Ability to assess talent and create effective athlete development pathways.
• Current First Aid certification and a valid DBS check are mandatory.
