About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join their construction operations, working a hybrid model based in Edinburgh . You will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel on construction sites and in associated offices. This position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to meet legal requirements and company standards. This is a vital role for someone passionate about safety and committed to fostering a culture of accident prevention and well-being within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce the company's Health and Safety policy.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement control measures.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver health and safety training to employees and contractors.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
- Advise management on all aspects of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification in Health and Safety.
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer or in a similar role within the construction sector.
- Thorough knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct effective risk assessments and develop safety procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
