Health and Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join their remote team and champion safety across all operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors. This role requires a proactive individual who can conduct risk assessments, deliver training, and promote a strong safety culture, even from a remote setting. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of current health and safety legislation and the ability to effectively communicate and enforce safety standards across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety management systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend control measures.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, reporting findings and implementing corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety training programs to employees and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and standards.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, training, and auditing skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage responsibilities remotely.
