About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Helpdesk Technician to provide essential IT support to their team in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK . This on-site role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, supporting employees with their technical queries and hardware issues. You will be the first line of defence against technical disruptions, ensuring productivity is maintained across the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve IT support requests via ticketing system, phone, and in person.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Perform timely hardware and software upgrades and routine maintenance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical hardware and software issues, escalating complex problems when necessary.
- Provide basic training and support to end-users on software applications and IT procedures.
- Maintain accurate IT inventory and documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
- Solid technical knowledge of operating systems, hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with IT support ticketing systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an office-based setting in Edinburgh .
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+) are a plus.
