HGV Workshop Controller – HGV Maintenance -West Drayton / Heathrow area Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm We are currently supporting a state-of-the-art maintenance workshop in their search for an experienced and driven Workshop Controller to join their busy team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, thick-skinned, and organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work to strict deadlines, and has a strong understanding of HGV maintenance. Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, you will play a key role in supervising a team of 11–12 HGV Technicians and Apprentices, ensuring the workshop operates safely, efficiently and to consistently high standards. HGV Workshop Controller The Role As Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the workshop on a day-to-day basis. You will allocate work, manage technician workflow, monitor progress, and ensure servicing, repairs and maintenance are completed accurately and within agreed timescales. You will act as the key link between the workshop team and management, providing technical guidance, supporting the team, and helping to drive productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This is primarily an office-based role, although you will also be expected to provide hands-on technical support within the workshop when required. HGV Workshop Controller Key Responsibilities Plan and manage the daily workload of Technicians and Apprentices to maximise workshop efficiency Allocate jobs and monitor progress to ensure work is completed within agreed deadlines Provide clear technical guidance and support to the workshop team Supervise Technicians and Apprentices, promoting safe and professional working practices Carry out hands-on technician duties, including servicing, repairs and general workshop support when required Monitor workshop productivity, performance, and efficiency Manage service sheet and job card sign-off Monitor open defects and assist with VOR reporting Maintain accurate records of Technician hours and workshop activity Work closely with the Workshop Manager to ensure the accurate use of the CDK system Support parts management, including ordering, stock control and maintaining accurate records Liaise with depots and operations to coordinate maintenance and repairs Produce technical reports and support repair recommendations Assist with shift handovers and ensure clear communication across the workshop Promote a strong culture of health & safety and compliance Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across workshop processes Ensure high standards of workmanship, efficiency and customer service are maintained Workshop Controller The Package

- Overtime opportunities available The Ideal Candidate We are looking for an experienced Workshop Controller, Workshop Supervisor, who is confident managing people, workload, and deadlines within a busy maintenance environment. You will ideally have: Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or Workshop Supervisor Strong HGV maintenance and technical experience City & Guilds HGV Parts 1–3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification Experience supervising Technicians and Apprentices A strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices Experience diagnosing faults and delivering cost-effective, high-quality repairs Good computer literacy, with experience using CDK (Kerridge) and Google Workspace desirable Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure A proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving The confidence to manage a busy workshop and work to strict deadlines A strong focus on efficiency, quality, safety, and continuous improvement If you are an experienced HGV Workshop Controller professional looking to take the next step into a Workshop Controller position, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a modern, high-performing maintenance operation
