In-House Counsel

About the Role

Our client, a leading industrial firm, is seeking a versatile In-House Counsel to join their legal department in Wolverhampton . This role offers broad exposure to various legal disciplines, including commercial contracts, corporate law, compliance, and dispute resolution. You will provide pragmatic legal advice to support business operations, strategic initiatives, and risk management across the group. This is a unique opportunity for a commercially astute lawyer to play a key role in a dynamic corporate environment, influencing business decisions and driving legal excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including supply, distribution, and service agreements.
• Advise on corporate governance, statutory compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions as needed.
• Manage and resolve legal disputes, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
• Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with at least 4 years' post-qualification experience, preferably with some in-house exposure.
• Broad experience across commercial, corporate, and regulatory law.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to provide practical legal solutions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive approach to identifying and managing legal risks within a business context.
