About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated Industrial Automation Technician to support their operations in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This role is central to maintaining and improving the automated systems that drive production efficiency. You will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), robotic systems, and other industrial automation equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to work with advanced technologies and contribute to the smooth running of manufacturing processes within the Installation & Maintenance sector, with a blend of site-based and potential remote diagnostic tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and commission PLC-based control systems and automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and software issues related to automated machinery.
- Perform preventative maintenance on robotics, sensors, and control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Assist in the design and implementation of automation upgrades and modifications.
- Provide remote support for troubleshooting and system diagnostics when needed.
Requirements
- Experience as an Automation Technician or similar role with a focus on PLCs and robotics.
- Knowledge of common PLC programming software (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell).
- Understanding of electrical systems, HMI interfaces, and industrial networking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to travel to various sites as needed within the Wolverhampton area.
