About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Engineer with a focus on Logistics and Supply Chain optimization to join their team, offering remote work flexibility with occasional needs for site visits in Plymouth . This role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our client's supply chain operations, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory management. You will leverage industrial engineering principles to design, analyze, and improve logistical processes, ensuring seamless flow of goods. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to impact a critical business function from a remote standpoint, while contributing to the operational framework in Devon.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize warehouse operations, including layout, picking strategies, and inventory management.
- Design and implement efficient transportation routes and logistics networks.
- Develop and maintain supply chain performance metrics and KPIs.
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements throughout the supply chain.
- Utilize simulation and modeling tools to test and validate logistics strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics , supply chain engineering, or industrial engineering.
- Proven expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Strong understanding of Lean principles applied to supply chain operations.
- Proficiency with data analysis and optimization software.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
