Our client is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Industrial Engineer with expertise in Supply Chain Optimization to join their team in Plymouth, Devon . This crucial role will focus on enhancing the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and resilience of the entire supply chain, from procurement to distribution. You will analyze complex logistics, identify bottlenecks, and implement innovative solutions leveraging data and process engineering principles. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both on-site and remotely, contributing significantly to operational excellence and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and map existing supply chain processes, identifying areas of inefficiency, risk, and cost drivers.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing inventory management, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Utilize data analytics and simulation tools to model supply chain scenarios and forecast demand.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, and sales teams to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain performance.
- Design and implement network optimization studies to improve transportation routes and distribution strategies.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain performance, reporting findings to senior management.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on supply chain and logistics optimization.
- Demonstrated expertise in supply chain modeling, simulation, and data analysis software.
- Proven experience with lean principles and their application to supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory management techniques and transportation logistics.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional communication skills for a hybrid environment.
