About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and knowledgeable Information Security Officer to bolster their security framework in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is central to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company's information assets. You will be responsible for implementing and enforcing security policies, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents. This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional to contribute to a robust security program, develop best practices, and help protect the organization from a wide range of cyber threats in a hybrid working setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Oversee security awareness training programs for all employees.
- Manage and monitor security systems, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents , leading remediation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in an information security role.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
- Knowledge of network security, cryptography, and data privacy principles.
- Strong understanding of risk management and incident response processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
