About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Insurance Data Scientist to join their advanced analytics team in Cambridge . This role is at the forefront of leveraging vast datasets to uncover insights, build predictive models, and drive data-informed decision-making across the business. You will be instrumental in areas such as risk assessment, fraud detection, customer segmentation, and pricing optimization within the insurance domain. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data manipulation, coupled with the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences, contributing to the company's competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and validate predictive models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within the insurance market.
• Design and conduct A/B tests and experiments to evaluate the impact of new strategies or models.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and translate them into data science problems.
• Communicate analytical findings and recommendations through clear visualizations and reports.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, AI, and machine learning relevant to the insurance industry .

Requirements

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist , with a focus on predictive modeling and machine learning.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R and associated data science libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience working with large datasets and database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Strong understanding of statistical principles and experimental design.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote , collaborative environment.
