About the Role
Our client seeks a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain accurate inventory records at their facility in Milton Keynes . This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of the warehouse, ensuring that stock levels are precise, discrepancies are identified and resolved, and that optimal inventory management practices are followed. You will be responsible for conducting regular audits, investigating variances, and implementing procedures to prevent loss and improve stock accuracy. This is a vital position for ensuring the efficiency of the supply chain and contributing to cost-effective operations within the logistics framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor stock levels and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory for management review.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and improve accuracy.
- Generate reports on inventory status, cycle count results, and other relevant metrics.
Requirements
- Previous experience in inventory control , stock management, or a similar warehousing role.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with stocktaking procedures and inventory reconciliation.
- Good communication skills for reporting findings and coordinating with teams.
