About the Role
Our client is looking for a motivated Junior Site Engineer to support their operations in Sunderland . This hybrid role offers a fantastic opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience across various construction sites while also having some flexibility to manage administrative tasks remotely. You will work closely with senior engineers and site managers, assisting in technical supervision, quality control, and site surveying. This position is designed to foster professional growth, providing exposure to diverse construction challenges and technologies. You will be an integral part of ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with technical tasks, including setting out, surveying, and site inspections.
- Monitor and report on construction progress, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Implement and enforce site safety regulations and quality control procedures.
- Prepare daily site reports, documenting activities, resources used, and any encountered issues.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate material deliveries and site activities.
- Support the project team in resolving on-site technical queries and challenges.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
- 0-2 years of experience in a site engineering or construction-related role.
- Basic understanding of construction methods, surveying techniques, and engineering principles.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and basic surveying equipment.
- Strong willingness to learn, good communication skills, and a proactive attitude.
