About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and technically adept Junior Sound Designer to join their innovative team in Reading . This role is perfect for an emerging talent passionate about creating immersive audio experiences for theatre, film, or interactive media within the arts and entertainment sector. You will work under the guidance of senior designers, contributing to the sonic landscape of various projects and gaining invaluable practical experience in a collaborative studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation and implementation of sound effects, ambient soundscapes, and musical elements for various projects.
- Operate and maintain audio recording equipment and software during recording sessions.
- Edit and mix audio assets, ensuring high-quality sound delivery across different platforms.
- Collaborate with creative teams, including directors, composers, and other designers, to realize the sonic vision for projects.
- Source and manage sound effect libraries and other audio assets.
- Perform basic audio repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
Requirements
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Sound Design, Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio showcasing practical sound design work, even from academic projects.
- Proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live.
- Familiarity with audio editing, mixing, and mastering techniques.
- Excellent listening skills and a keen ear for detail in sound reproduction.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to project requirements in a hybrid setting.
