About the Role
Our client, a renowned international engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Process Design Engineer to join their fully remote team, working from the Reading area. This role is critical for delivering cutting-edge process design solutions for a diverse range of chemical and industrial projects globally. You will lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the successful execution of projects from concept through to detailed design, all within a collaborative and dynamic remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of process design packages, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and control strategies.
- Perform complex process simulations and calculations, including mass and energy balances, hydraulics, and heat transfer.
- Conduct thorough safety reviews, including HAZOP and LOPA studies, ensuring designs meet stringent safety standards.
- Manage project deliverables and timelines, coordinating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Mentor and guide junior process engineers, fostering their technical and professional development.
- Engage with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical expertise, and present design proposals.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering .
- 8+ years of experience in process design and engineering, preferably within a consultancy or EPC environment.
- Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, UniSim) and CAD tools.
- In-depth knowledge of process safety principles and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to manage complex design projects and lead engineering teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
