About the Role

Our client is searching for an accomplished Lead Blockchain Engineer to spearhead their blockchain development efforts in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK . In this senior position, you will provide technical leadership, mentor a team of engineers, and drive the architecture and implementation of complex blockchain solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping the direction of our client's involvement in the Crypto & Blockchain space, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performance decentralized applications. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade blockchain solutions.
• Mentor and guide a team of blockchain engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Define technical roadmaps and architectural standards for blockchain projects.
• Oversee the implementation of smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), and other blockchain-related technologies.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of all blockchain systems.
• Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Requirements

• Significant experience in software engineering with a specialized focus on blockchain development .
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership or lead engineer role.
• Expertise in designing and implementing distributed ledger technologies (DLT) and smart contracts.
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages such as Go, Rust, Java, or Python.
• Strong understanding of cryptography , consensus algorithms, and network protocols.
• Experience with cloud environments and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
