About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Lead Buyer to manage the procurement of indirect materials in Manchester . This strategic role involves leading sourcing initiatives, developing strong supplier partnerships, and ensuring cost savings while maintaining quality and service levels. You will be responsible for category management, market analysis, and driving best practices across the indirect procurement function. Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories, including IT, facilities, marketing, and professional services.
- Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements with suppliers.
- Conduct thorough market analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and manage strong, long-term relationships with key vendors.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical standards.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the purchasing team.
Requirements
- Over 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement , specifically with indirect materials.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex negotiations and managing significant supplier contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of category management and sourcing methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; CIPS or equivalent certification preferred.
