About the Role
Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead their operational excellence initiatives in Manchester . This senior position involves leading a team of engineers, guiding strategic planning for process improvements, and ensuring the seamless integration of new technologies into manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for mentoring junior staff, setting departmental standards, and driving initiatives that significantly enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance. This role is critical to maintaining our client's competitive edge in the industrial sector based in Manchester .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of industrial engineers , fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute long-term strategies for process optimization, operational efficiency, and cost reduction across the facility.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and validation of new production lines, equipment, and automation systems.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Champion the adoption of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies throughout the organization.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed operational changes and technology investments.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma (Black Belt certification highly desirable), and Theory of Constraints.
- Proven experience managing complex projects from conception through to successful implementation.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with advanced simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
