About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Chemical Process Engineer to spearhead process design and optimization initiatives within their operations in Norwich . This senior role requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and drive technical excellence in chemical engineering . You will be responsible for developing innovative process solutions, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with environmental standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of new chemical processes and the optimization of existing ones.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of process engineers.
- Oversee the creation and review of P&IDs, mass/energy balances, and equipment specifications.
- Conduct and review process safety assessments (e.g., HAZOP, risk assessments).
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
- Liaise with senior management, R&D, and operations teams to align process strategies with business objectives.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering .
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Extensive experience with process simulation software and P&ID development tools.
- Strong background in process safety, environmental regulations, and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to working full-time on-site in Norwich .
