About the Role
Our client seeks a highly experienced Lead Chemical Process Engineer to oversee critical projects and guide a team of engineers in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK . This senior position involves taking ownership of process design from inception to completion, ensuring projects meet stringent technical, safety, and commercial objectives. You will be instrumental in mentoring junior staff, driving innovation, and maintaining the highest standards of engineering practice. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of complex chemical process projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Perform detailed process design, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and control strategies.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety reviews (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA) to ensure operational integrity.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of process engineers, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success and compliance.
Requirements
- BSc/MSc in Chemical Engineering with a strong academic record.
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in chemical process engineering, with a proven track record in leading significant projects.
- Expertise in process simulation software, thermodynamic modeling , and scale-up principles.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and lead technical teams effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
