About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Chemical Process Engineer to spearhead critical projects in Birmingham . You will be responsible for guiding a team of engineers in the design, development, and execution of innovative chemical processes that meet stringent performance and safety criteria. This role offers the chance to influence major capital projects and drive operational excellence within a key industrial hub. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of chemical engineers in the design and implementation of new processes and the optimization of existing ones.
- Oversee process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP studies, and ensure robust safety protocols are in place.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets for process engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies and continuous improvement methodologies within process engineering.
- Act as a technical authority, providing expert guidance on complex chemical engineering challenges.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of process simulation software and advanced control strategies.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale chemical process projects from inception to completion.
- Proficiency in Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
