Lead Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Chemical Process Engineer to spearhead critical projects in Birmingham . You will be responsible for guiding a team of engineers in the design, development, and execution of innovative chemical processes that meet stringent performance and safety criteria. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of chemical engineers in the design and implementation of new processes and the optimization of existing ones.
• Oversee process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP studies, and ensure robust safety protocols are in place.
• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets for process engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Champion the adoption of new technologies and continuous improvement methodologies within process engineering.
• Act as a technical authority, providing expert guidance on complex chemical engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of process simulation software and advanced control strategies.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale chemical process projects from inception to completion.
• Proficiency in Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
