About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and application of cheminformatics tools and databases for drug discovery projects.
• Design and implement virtual screening campaigns, molecular modeling, and QSAR studies.
• Manage and analyze large chemical and biological datasets to identify potential drug candidates.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists, biologists, and other R&D teams to integrate computational insights into research strategies.
• Mentor and guide junior cheminformatics scientists, providing technical expertise and direction.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies and methodologies to enhance computational capabilities.

Requirements

• PhD in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in cheminformatics within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) and cheminformatics toolkits (e.g., RDKit, OpenEye).
• Strong understanding of structure-based and ligand-based drug design principles.
• Proven experience in managing scientific projects and leading technical teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, adept at conveying complex technical concepts.
