About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and diligent Lead Compliance Officer to oversee and strengthen their regulatory compliance framework in Cardiff . This senior position is instrumental in ensuring adherence to all relevant financial laws and regulations within the UK market. You will lead a team of compliance professionals, develop robust compliance policies, and conduct risk assessments to safeguard the organisation. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures aligned with UK financial regulations.
- Lead and mentor the compliance team, fostering a culture of strong ethical conduct and regulatory awareness.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and internal audits to identify potential compliance gaps and vulnerabilities.
- Manage regulatory reporting requirements and liaise with regulatory bodies such as the FCA.
- Oversee anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance matters and regulatory updates.
Requirements
- Law degree or a relevant professional qualification in compliance or financial services.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a financial services compliance role, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of UK financial services regulations, including FCA handbook rules.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and controls.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
