Lead Frontend Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Frontend Engineer to guide their user interface development efforts in Cambridge . This leadership role involves overseeing the design and implementation of intuitive, high-performance user interfaces, mentoring a team of frontend developers, and setting the technical direction for frontend architecture. You will work closely with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers to create seamless and engaging user experiences that meet business objectives. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of modern frontend technologies and a passion for building scalable, maintainable, and visually appealing web applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex user interfaces using modern frameworks like React or Angular.
• Mentor and guide a team of frontend engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
• Define and enforce frontend development standards, best practices, and code quality guidelines.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design concepts into functional, interactive web experiences.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and responsiveness across various devices and browsers.
• Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and troubleshoot complex frontend issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in frontend development , with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
• Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React , Vue.js, Angular).
• Strong understanding of state management, build tools, and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, version control (Git), and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
