Lead Geoscientist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Lead Geoscientist to drive geological interpretations and subsurface understanding for their projects based in Coventry . This senior position will involve leading a team of geoscientists, overseeing geological data acquisition, and ensuring the integration of geological models into field development plans. You will play a crucial role in identifying and evaluating new energy opportunities, contributing directly to the company's exploration and production strategies. This role offers the chance to influence subsurface decision-making and shape the future of the company's asset portfolio within the UK energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading geological data interpretation, including seismic, well log, and core data analysis.
• Developing and validating 3D geological models integrated with reservoir engineering data.
• Managing and mentoring a team of geoscientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Contributing to exploration strategy and prospect generation, evaluating geological risks and uncertainties.
• Ensuring the quality and consistency of geological data and interpretations across all projects.
• Presenting geological insights and recommendations to senior management and joint venture partners.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
• Over 8 years of progressive experience in exploration and development geoscience roles.
• Proven track record in seismic interpretation , sequence stratigraphy, and structural geology.
• Experience with geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix) and data management.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, managing technical teams and projects.
• Strong understanding of basin analysis and hydrocarbon systems.
