Lead Industrial Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead process improvement initiatives within their key facility in Cardiff . This senior role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for operational excellence and a proven ability to lead teams and projects to success. You will be responsible for setting the direction for industrial engineering efforts, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring that best practices are implemented across all operational areas. This is an on-site position, fostering close collaboration with manufacturing, logistics, and management teams to drive tangible improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for operational efficiency and process optimization.
• Lead and mentor a team of industrial engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise.
• Oversee the design and implementation of new production lines, facility layouts, and workflow improvements.
• Champion the adoption of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Conduct complex data analysis, root cause investigations, and financial justification for proposed projects.
• Collaborate closely with senior management to align industrial engineering efforts with company objectives.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering , with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification highly desirable), and project management.
• Demonstrated success in leading significant operational improvement projects.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
