About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead process optimization initiatives in their Birmingham facility. This senior position requires a visionary leader capable of driving significant improvements in manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will lead a team of engineers, championing best practices and innovative solutions across all production lines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial engineering principles and a proven ability to manage complex projects from conception to completion, contributing to strategic operational planning and fostering a culture of relentless improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of industrial engineers, providing technical guidance and project oversight.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for operational efficiency and continuous improvement across the facility.
- Oversee the design and implementation of new production systems and technologies.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction.
- Champion the adoption of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles throughout the organization.
- Manage major engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in industrial engineering , with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated expertise in process optimization , simulation, and facility layout design.
- In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), and change management.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools.
