About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Lead Industrial Engineer to spearhead their operational improvement initiatives in Leeds . This role combines on-site leadership with the flexibility of hybrid working. You will guide a team of engineers, drive strategic projects, and implement advanced methodologies to enhance overall efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of engineering principles, and a proven ability to influence stakeholders and manage complex projects from inception to completion. You will be pivotal in shaping the future of our operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of industrial engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for optimizing manufacturing processes, supply chain, and logistics operations.
- Implement and oversee the application of advanced engineering techniques, including Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma, and simulation modeling.
- Manage large-scale process improvement projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
- Collaborate with senior management to define operational goals and KPIs, and track progress towards achieving them.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to drive operational excellence and competitive advantage.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering , with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Expertise in a wide range of process improvement methodologies and tools, with a strong focus on Lean and Six Sigma.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, strategic projects.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization.
