Lead Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced and forward-thinking Lead Information Security Engineer to spearhead their security engineering efforts in a fully remote capacity. This leadership role will involve designing, implementing, and managing advanced security solutions to protect the organization's infrastructure and data from sophisticated threats. You will guide technical strategy, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security into every aspect of the technology landscape. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAFs, and encryption solutions.
• Lead the development and automation of security controls and processes across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and architectural reviews for new systems and applications.
• Develop and manage incident response capabilities, ensuring rapid detection, containment, and eradication of threats.
• Mentor and guide junior security engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Evaluate and integrate new security technologies to enhance the overall security posture of the organization.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in information security engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role.
• Deep expertise in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), network security architecture, and identity and access management (IAM).
• Proven experience with security automation, scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible), and CI/CD security integration.
• Strong understanding of modern attack vectors, threat intelligence, and defensive security strategies.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
