About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead their machine learning initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . This pivotal role involves leading a team of talented engineers in designing, developing, and deploying scalable machine learning solutions that solve complex business problems. You will architect robust ML pipelines, drive best practices in MLOps, and ensure the successful integration of AI models into our product ecosystem. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of end-to-end machine learning systems and pipelines.
- Mentor and guide a team of machine learning engineers, fostering their technical growth and productivity.
- Define and enforce best practices for ML model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring (MLOps).
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and other engineering teams to translate business needs into technical ML solutions.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance the team's capabilities and output.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Machine Learning.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying production-grade machine learning models.
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing ML projects.
- Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps tools and practices.
