About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead their machine learning initiatives in Newcastle upon Tyne . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of end-to-end machine learning systems and pipelines.
• Mentor and guide a team of machine learning engineers, fostering their technical growth and productivity.
• Define and enforce best practices for ML model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring (MLOps).
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and other engineering teams to translate business needs into technical ML solutions.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance the team's capabilities and output.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Machine Learning.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying production-grade machine learning models.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing ML projects.
• Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps tools and practices.
