About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead their automotive division in Coventry . This is a critical role responsible for leading the design and development of innovative automotive components and systems. You will manage a team of talented engineers, guide technical direction, and ensure the successful delivery of projects that meet high standards of performance, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Oversee the design, analysis, and validation of automotive mechanical systems, including powertrain and chassis components.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies and roadmaps in alignment with company objectives.
- Ensure designs comply with automotive standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in automotive mechanical engineering , with a significant portion in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in vehicle dynamics , powertrain systems, or chassis design.
- Strong knowledge of CAD/CAE tools (e.g., CATIA, ANSYS) and simulation techniques.
- Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle technologies is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
