About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Organic Chemist to spearhead their synthesis and process development initiatives in Coventry . Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute multi-step organic synthesis routes for novel compounds.
- Optimize existing synthetic processes for improved yield, purity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead and mentor a team of synthetic organic chemists, providing technical guidance and project oversight.
- Develop and implement robust analytical methods for characterization and quality control of synthesized materials.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards in the laboratory setting.
Requirements
- PhD in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience (8+ years) in synthetic organic chemistry, with a focus on process development.
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team of chemists.
- Expertise in modern synthetic techniques, purification methods, and spectroscopic characterization (NMR, MS, HPLC).
- Strong understanding of reaction mechanisms, stereochemistry, and regioselectivity.
