Lead Sound Designer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly creative and experienced Lead Sound Designer to spearhead audio development for their upcoming interactive projects. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. You will be instrumental in shaping the sonic identity of our games, leading a small, talented team of audio professionals to deliver immersive and memorable soundscapes. This role requires a blend of artistic vision, technical expertise, and strong leadership skills to guide projects from concept through to final release, fostering a collaborative and innovative remote working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and integration of all audio elements, including sound effects , music, and voice-overs.
• Collaborate closely with game designers, programmers, and artists to ensure audio is integral to the player experience.
• Mentor and guide junior sound designers, providing feedback and fostering professional growth within the remote team.
• Manage audio assets, budgets, and vendor relationships to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
• Develop and maintain audio middleware pipelines and documentation for efficient workflow.
• Conduct rigorous quality assurance and testing of all audio features across different platforms.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sound Designer in the games industry, with at least one shipped AAA title in a lead role.
• Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Reaper, or Cubase, and audio middleware like Wwise or FMOD.
• Strong understanding of audio engines, real-time audio implementation, and game development pipelines.
• Excellent audio editing , mixing, and mastering skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a remote team, with exceptional communication skills.
