About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Sound Designer to spearhead audio creation for their innovative gaming studio based in Milton Keynes . This role is central to crafting immersive auditory experiences that define our games. You will lead a team of sound designers, guiding the artistic direction and technical execution of all in-game audio, from environmental ambiences and character effects to dynamic music systems. The ideal candidate possesses a deep passion for gaming, a mastery of sound design principles, and proven leadership capabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of sound designers, providing creative direction and technical guidance throughout the audio development pipeline.
- Design, implement, and mix high-quality audio assets, including sound effects, ambiences, Foley, and voiceovers for game titles.
- Develop and maintain the overall sonic vision and audio style for assigned game projects, ensuring consistency and impact.
- Collaborate closely with game designers, programmers, and artists to integrate audio seamlessly into game mechanics and environments.
- Utilize advanced audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) and digital audio workstations (DAWs) to implement and optimize game audio.
- Conduct critical listening sessions and provide actionable feedback to the audio team to ensure the highest standards are met.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in game audio design , with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Proven expertise in sound design, mixing, and audio implementation for video games using industry-standard tools.
- Strong understanding of game development pipelines and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Experience with audio middleware such as Wwise or FMOD is essential.
- Exceptional listening skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating immersive audio experiences.
