About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Lead Subsea Engineer to join their engineering team in Southampton . This senior role is responsible for the design, development, and integrity of subsea systems and infrastructure for offshore oil and gas projects. You will lead a team of engineers, manage project execution, and ensure that all subsea designs meet stringent safety, technical, and economic requirements. This is a key leadership position within a company at the forefront of offshore energy development, offering the chance to shape innovative subsea solutions and manage complex, large-scale projects from conception through to installation and operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and specification of subsea production systems, including trees, manifolds, and umbilicals.
- Manage project engineering activities related to subsea equipment and installations.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications.
- Oversee the technical integrity and reliability of subsea assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Mentor and develop junior engineering staff within the subsea team.
- Collaborate with project management, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Offshore, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in subsea engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proven experience in leading subsea engineering projects and teams.
- In-depth knowledge of subsea hardware, installation procedures, and interface management.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, DNV).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
